Mental Health Centres – Gosford and Wyong
Mental Health Inpatient units are located at the Mental Health Centres at both Gosford and Wyong Hospitals. They provide specialist mental health care in a hospital setting for people who are acutely unwell.

Monday to Friday – 3pm to 8pm
Weekends and Public Holidays – 10am to 8pm
If visiting after 4.30pm and the doors are locked use the buzzer located on the right-hand side of the front door. If these hours do not suit, please speak with staff to make alternate arrangements.

Wyong Mental Health Centre and Miri Miri

Wyong Mental Health Centre provides specialist mental health care in a hospital setting for people who are acutely unwell. Miri Miri provides specialist mental health care in a hospital setting for people over the age of 65 and is located within Wyong Mental Health Centre.

Weekends and Public Holidays – 10am to 8pm

Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC)
Located at Wyong Hospital near the Emergency Department, the PECC provides specialist care for up to 48 hours.

Safe Havens – Gosford and Wyong
There are two Safe Haven services on the Central Coast – one at Gosford Hospital and one at Wyong Hospital.
Safe Havens provide immediate help for anyone seeking support for suicidal thoughts or distress, offering a welcoming alternative to Emergency Departments.
Visitors are greeted by a peer worker and can use the space in any way that is most helpful to them at the time – whether that’s having a cuppa and a chat or taking a quiet moment in the outdoor space. No appointment, Medicare card or referral is required.
Gosford Safe Haven
Gosford Hospital grounds on the corner of Ambulance Road and Holden Street.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm
Wyong Safe Haven
Wyong Hospital grounds block K, near the Wyong Mental Health Centre – follow the red and black footprints from Wyong Emergency Department.
Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9am to 3.30pm (expected to expand to five days a week)
Headspace – Gosford, Wyong and Lake Haven
Headspace is Australia’s national youth mental health foundation, providing early-intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds. There are three Headspace locations on the Central Coast:

Central Coast Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub
The Central Coast Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub in Tuggerah provides an accessible, child-centred and family-focused service for children experiencing challenges with their mental health and wellbeing.
The Hub provides a range of specialist medical and allied health services which may include psychiatrists, mental health clinicians, paediatricians, care navigators, peer workers and Aboriginal Health workers.
