Occupational Therapy – Children

Occupational Therapy (OT) services for children aged 0-12 years are offered at a number of community health centres on the Central Coast.

Our services

Paediatric Occupational Therapists can assist children 0-12 to develop the following skills:

Development:

  • achieving developmental milestones;
  • fine motor skills such as drawing or cutting;
  • sensory processing.

Self-care:

  • dressing
  • bathing and toileting
  • eating
  • sleep

Playing:

  • Sharing attention in play
  • pretend play

School:

  • handwriting
  • attention
  • organisation – ‘getting ready’

Referrals

To refer your child to Occupational Therapy you will require a written referral from a health professional such as a GP, Paediatrician, Child and Family Health Nurse or Allied Health professional outlining your child’s need for OT. This can be faxed to: 02 4328 7925 or emailed to CCLHD-ChildHealth-OT@health.nsw.gov.au
