Careers

MidStart

Applications for the MidStart Registered Midwife Program are open from 19 May to 1 June 2026.

If you are a registered nurse wishing to pursue a career in midwifery, Central Coast Local Health District’s (CCLHD) Maternity Service could be the perfect place to take the next step in your career. We offer a range of models of care to achieve the best outcomes for women and their families before, during and after birth.

Midwifery encompasses primary health care principles as well as providing support for the emotional and social aspects of birth. As a student you will gain valuable experience to apply these principles, supported by educators, mentors, clinical midwife specialists, clinical midwife consultants and members of our passionate multi-disciplinary team.
