The Aboriginal Mental Health team works alongside clinicians within the Central Coast Mental Health Service in a liaison role to provide cultural input and to support the delivery of mental health services to Aboriginal people over 18 years of age.
This team also provides support and advocacy – liaising with other government departments and referring to Non-Government Organisation (NGO) support services. The team provides support and education to families, carers, and community members as well as cultural awareness training and education to mental health staff.
If an Aboriginal person (yourself, a family member or friend, a client of your service) is referred to the Central Coast Mental Health Service, ask for the Aboriginal Mental Health Team to be contacted.
