CIAP Champion Program - CCLHD

The NSW Health Clinical Information Access Portal (CIAP) provides access to clinical information and resources to support evidence-based practice at the point of care and is available to all staff working in the New South Wales public health system in Australia.

The CIAP Champion Program is a Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) initiative that commenced in 2012 to help support clinicians to continually improve their clinical practice.  The Program aims to have at least one Champion on each ward/unit to support their colleagues in navigating and using CIAP effectively.  This highly successful collaborative program is a joint initiative of the CCLHD Nursing and Midwifery Directorate and the Library Service.

More than 200 CIAP Champions have received training with the initial half day workshop now extended to six and half hours to include a hands-on computer session aimed at consolidating learning.

The initial project details are published by the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI).

Our program also featured at the 2013 Australian Nursing and Midwifery Conference held in Newcastle, NSW.
