An emergency plan is used when something unexpected occurs. It provides:
- information on the specific care needs of the person requiring care
- alerts others that you are a carer and someone relies on you for care
- the carer with the tools to work through a crisis BEFORE it occurs.

Carers find the My Health Record a useful resource to store and access medical and health information. The FREE record is available from community health centres, your GP or local health service.
